Look Up!
The phone rang as her friend, Talle, walked in.
She answered, “Hello?”, “Yes.”, “Yes”, “Yes.”, “Ok.” She turned and handed the phone over to her boyfriend. “He wants to talk to you,” she said to him as she gave him her phone. She then turned to her friend, Talle, who had come over to visit them and was now sitting on the sofa and said “He wants to meet us for lunch in Japan Town at 1:30.”
He took the phone saying to her, “Who is this? Who wants to talk to me?” He placed the phone to his ear saying, “Hello?”
“Hello, Noah. So, you had an interesting time last night?” The voice was rather cheerful.
“I did, as a matter of fact.” Noah replied inquisitively. “Who is this?”
“We put on quite a light show for you, yes?” The voice said confidently.
“How do you know about that? We haven’t told anyone about what we saw.”
“I know. But, I know. I’m Bill. I’m a friend of Talle, your girlfriend’s friend. I know that you have been up most of the night watching some inexplicable lights over the coastline and in and around Stinson Beach. I know that you can’t explain any of it, but you know it happened. I know that one of the small craft you witnessed came close to you and hovered near you while you were standing in front of your van that was parked off of the roadside.” Bill said all of this without any emotion or tone, but simply as a matter of fact.
“How do you know about all of this?” Noah asked with a slight uneasiness in him.
