Red light therapy, a fascinating and increasingly popular treatment, involves exposing the skin to long-wavelength red light, often extending into the near-infrared spectrum. This therapy is typically administered over a series of sessions and has shown promise in addressing various health conditions. I am using the image from a recent post as an impetus to this article.
The underlying mechanism of low-level laser therapy (LLLT), also known as photobiomodulation, continues to be a subject of ongoing research. What we do know is that its effectiveness hinges on specific wavelengths of light. Administering LLLT outside the optimal dose range appears to yield little to no benefit. The science behind it is rooted in photochemistry, specifically the Grotthuss-Draper law, which states that light must be absorbed by a chemical substance to trigger a photochemical reaction. In LLLT, this substance is cytochrome c oxidase, a key respiratory enzyme in the mitochondria's electron transport chain. This interaction supports cellular energy production and is central to the widely accepted theory explaining LLLT's effects.
Devices utilizing LLLT have been promoted for treating an array of conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders like carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Beyond that, it has applications in managing temporomandibular joint disorders, aiding wound healing, and even addressing oral mucositis in chemotherapy patients. Some studies suggest modest effectiveness in alleviating short-term pain associated with chronic conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, tendinopathy, and joint disorders. However, evidence remains inconclusive for its utility in dentistry or wound healing.
I’ve personally seen individuals achieve remarkable healing outcomes using red light therapy for some of these very conditions. My own recent experience with red light therapy during a dental procedure was nothing short of transformative—it worked wonders for me.
What we might also keep in mind is that the underlying conditions of the digital assets that I discuss on my site, and nearly all other investment assets currently available in the world, are in a red light condition due to the current administration’s political climate of tariffs and restrained capitalism. We must hold true to the fact that the underlying fundamentals to these assets remain unchanged. The contracts, the use necessities, the partnerships remain the same. The ONLY thing that has happened is the emotional quotient giving an opportunity to buy the dip for dollar cost averaging.
