One breath, One day closer

One break, stay

When it all goes to zero

it’s a long, long, long, long road

when it seems you’ve lost your hero

and you don’t know which way to go

Baptize me over Elvis’s grave

but, what if I can walk on water?

and what if I can make a blind man see?

and what if I can heal your wounds?

What then? Would you believe in me?

You’re staring right at it

but, you don’t want to go

you’ve stated your intentions

they seem to come and go away

What do you do when your jester is your king?

Tell the demons to take the back seat

Lightening begets thunder

Thunder begets the rain

Now under your umbrella

You think you control the pain

Angry waves keep coming in

I want the tide to take me out again

just like moths to the flame

just like moths to the flame

are we too late to get through the gates of heaven

when we all have the keys to the gates of hell

I’m just trying to carve out tomorrow

from the face of my tombstone
